July 2 turned out to be a busy day for technology news in India, with multiple companies unveiling new products and services across different categories. In smartphones, Nothing announced a special RCB-branded version of its upcoming Phone (4b), created in partnership with the Bengaluru-based cricket team. This limited-edition device will be sold only at Nothing's Bengaluru store for one day, on a first-come, first-served basis. The standard Phone (4b), the first in a new budget-friendly series from the company, will also debut the same day with a chip capable of running AI features directly on the device.
On the entertainment side, Lumio rolled out a test version of a new feature called Project Neo, which lets owners of its smart TVs and projectors search for shows and movies simply by messaging through WhatsApp or Instagram, without needing a traditional remote. Users can type requests in plain language or even share screenshots to find similar content, and the feature currently works in nine languages.
Meanwhile, Oura, the maker of a popular health-tracking smart ring, announced a major price cut on its Oura Ring 4 during Amazon's upcoming Prime Day sale, with discounts of up to 30 percent making it the cheapest it has ever been priced in India.
Finally, OpenAI released a month-long structured plan to help Indian professionals learn how to use AI tools like ChatGPT effectively at work, covering everything from personalised study schedules to automating routine tasks and practising presentations using voice features.
